Voices that make a difference

Deborah Kennedy Coster
Spirit Award
The Thomas Circle Singers rehearse Tuesday evenings from 7:15-9:45, with additional concert dress rehearsals and occasional Saturday rehearsals. However, there is a lot of behind the scenes work that takes place to ensure that we can rehearse, create music, perform concerts, and make an impact in the Washington, DC community.
We have always relied heavily on volunteers to do a lot of the heavy lifting that allows us to do the good work that we do. In light of this, the Board of Directors of TCS has created an award to be given annually to acknowledge those volunteers who have made a significant impact on the life and health of TCS.
We were very excited to present the first award at our December 2018 concert.
It would only be fitting to name this award after its first recipient
Deborah Kennedy Coster
Deborah was first singer auditioned after James Kreger began as the conductor of TCS in January 1989. In those 30 years, Deborah has been a board member for several terms, having served as secretary, Vice Chair, and twice as Board Chair. Over these three decades, she has also worked closely with our partner organizations and has done significant fundraising, both with foundations and with individuals. Deborah has been a strong supporter and advocate for TCS during her entire tenure.
