A TCS Profile

Elizabeth Dutton, Singers’ President
As TCS’ Singers’ President, Elizabeth Dutton is responsible for coordinating most organizational tasks with the singers including collecting dues, distributing tickets, making announcements and other duties as needed. One of the most important responsibilities in her position is to be the liaison between the singers and the board, she says “I hope that I can effectively be a voice for the singers and help with all aspects of communication and morale.”
Elizabeth has a Master’s degree in Vocal Pedagogy from Westminster Choir College. She currently works as the Music Editor for Alexander Street Press, an electronic publisher of research databases in the arts and humanities. In this position she’s in charge of selecting and editing content for their music databases.
When asked why she chose to sing for TCS, she replies “I had just moved to the DC area and was looking for an opportunity to sing with a choral group—trying to pick from the many groups in the DC area was overwhelming until I happened upon the TCS Web site and learned about the group and their mission. I knew right then that I wanted to be involved with TCS.”
Originally from Rochester, NY, Elizabeth currently lives in Arlington, VA, with her husband of two years. When not singing for TCS, she enjoys playing the piano, tennis and crossword puzzles. She cites singing the Berlioz Requiem with the New York Philharmonic and conductor Charles Dutoit as her greatest accomplishment to date. |
