THE THOMAS CIRCLE SINGERS RINGS IN THE HOLIDAY SEASON
WITH "A TCS CHRISTMAS" DECEMBER 12, 2004
WASHINGTON, DC - November
22, 2004
- There's no better way to experience the holiday season than through
music. This Christmas season, join the Thomas Circle Singers
(TCS) as they give new meaning to "a choir of mixed voices" by raising
their voices with orchestra and the voices of all who attend to
celebrate A TCS Christmas on Sunday, December 12, 2004.
The chorus will perform Gerald Finzi's In terra pax and John Rutter's Brother Heinrich's Christmas,
narrated by Diana Hollander of WGMS 103.5 -FM. The program will also
include carols and motets of the holiday season by William Mathias,
Francis Poulenc, Robert Convery, and David Willcocks. The audience can
also sing with the spirit of Christmas by joining in traditional
carols, including "Angels We Have Heard on High."
The December 12 concert is "guaranteed to put you in the holiday spirit
and helps support a good cause," says TCS Artistic Director James
Kreger. All proceeds for of the concert will go to the Emmaus Services
for the Aging, an organization that provides services to the elderly
poor. TCS has long striven to "Transform the City through Song," with
an unparalleled commitment to both music and community service.
See the group the Washington Post lauds as singing with "grace,
silvery tone and high impact." You'll not only be experiencing
Christmas music at its finest, but you'll also be participating in the
spirit of holiday giving.
