The Thomas Circle Singers present Christmas Concert With Local Boys' Choir as Special Guests
This year the Landon School Little Singers, a local boys' choir, will join
the Thomas Circle Singers for their annual holiday concert, A TCS
Christmas. A select group of elementary school boys, the Landon
Little Singers will perform selections by J.S. Bach, Arnold Cooke, and
Carl Schalk, as well as Randall Thompson's "The Carol of the Rose" with
the women of TCS, "Christmas Day" by Gustav Holst.
The Thomas Circle Singers and Orchestra will perform Francesco
Durante's glorious baroque Magnificat and fresh arrangements of classic
works, such as "The Twelve Days of Christmas," by John
Rutter, and Three German Carols by Stephen Mager. No matter
what your musical taste, A TCS Christmas will provide something for
everyone. A spirited audience sing-along will allow everyone to raise
their voices with full orchestra.
The December 14 concert is not only "guaranteed to put you in the
holiday spirit, it also helps support a good cause," said TCS artistic
director James Kreger. "Christmas is about children, and the
Empower program, our December beneficiary, is geared toward
youth." The Empower program (www.empowered.org) is an
organization that works with youth in the Washington, DC area to combat
the effects of violence.
TCS has long striven to "Transform the City through Song," with an
unparalleled commitment to both music and community service. TCS
performances have raised over $100,000 for local non-profit
organizations in the last six years alone. This season TCS continues
the tradition by donating all concert ticket proceeds to groups that
promote youth leadership development.
A TCS Christmas will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14, at St. Paul's
Lutheran Church, located at 4900 Connecticut Ave., NW. A free
reception will follow the performance. Tickets are $20 for adults and
$15 for seniors and students. To order tickets for the concert, please
call 202-232-3353, or email: info@thomascirclesingers.org.
