OPPORTUNITIES:
Concert Manager/Intern
The Thomas
Circle Singers
seeks an intern for the Spring 2006 Concert Season. The primary
responsibility of this internship is to act as Concert Manager for
TCS's two spring concerts (March and May). Duties will include,
but
are not limited to, communicate with the concert venue/contact person
prior to the dress rehearsal week, coordinate the logistics and set up
of the dress rehearsals at each venue, coordinate the front of
house
procedures and volunteers for each concert. Hours will
be very
flexible and vary according to the proximity of the concert. A
$100
honorarium will be given for each concert.
In addition to the Concert
Manager responsibilities, the internship may also include research into
new funding sources for TCS, specifically corporate and foundation
sources. This will involve working closely with the TCS Board of
Director's Fundraising chair, as well as the Board as a whole.
There
will be the opportunity to attend the monthly Board of Directors
meetings as well as other activities and functions of TCS.
TCS is a unique choral
ensemble in Washington, DC with a mission of supporting other local
non-profit organizations by donating 100% of all ticket revenue from
each concert to a different non-profit. This year's focus is on

Concert Assistant
Are you a people person? Greet guests, collect tickets, distribute
programs; assist the concert manager with ticket sales and other
duties. Arrive early for concerts and remain afterwards to collect
materials. Requirements: a ready smile.
Stage
Crew
Enjoy using those muscles you've worked on? Help set up risers,
orchestra chairs and music stands. Assist with any stage changes needed
during concerts. Requirements: a strong back.
Mailing
Preparation
Like to talk while you work? Join our "stuffing parties" to prepare
postcards, brochures and other materials for mailing. You'll have fun
and maybe even pizza. Requirements: willing fingers.

Beneficiaries
For hands-on experience with our beneficiaries, work with this
committee to research and select annual slates of concert
beneficiaries; tour their facilities; develop lasting relationships
with the beneficiaries; work with them to promote each concert.
Marketing
and Audience Development
If you like getting the word out, help this group plan and carry out
promotional activities, including advertising, brochure preparation,
media contacts and developing new audiences.
Fundraising
If you enjoy the thrill of pursuit, use your expertise to help plan
annual campaigns, seek new funding sources, assist with grant
proposals, prepare mailings and other solicitations.
Finance
Use your number-crunching skill to help prepare and monitor budgets,
assist with bookkeeping and other accounting needs.
Board
Development
Share your network of Washington contacts to help this committee
identify and develop relationships with potential board or committee
candidates.

Are you looking for an opportunity to make a significant contribution
of time and energy to a very worthy cause? Our board is a hard-working
group of people who carry out the work of TCS through the committees
listed above. Membership is a three-year commitment. Board meetings are
generally on the third Monday evening of each month. Requirement: a
love of TCS.
