FROM THE ARTISTIC DIRECTOR:
Welcome to our 30th anniversary season, an exciting milestone in the life of the Thomas Circle Singers. Since 1976, TCS has combined superb musical artistry and compassionate social service, donating all ticket proceeds to nonprofit organizations that serve Washington residents in need. Over the years, we have received recognition for our musical excellence and unique service to the Washington community, including being named Washingtonian Magazine's "Washingtonian of the Year" in 2000. TCS is known for performing a broad range of repertoire from large-scale works of choral masters such as Brahms, Mozart, and Duruflé to "off the-beaten-path" pieces and new works by living composers - all performed with finesse and exquisite musicality. This year is no exception, and we open our subscription season with the world premiere of Robert Convery's Glory to the Child, a dramatic and lyrical extended work for chorus and orchestra, commissioned by TCS to celebrate our 30th anniversary year. Each concert this season promises to captivate the ear, stimulate the mind, and restore the soul. If you haven't heard TCS recently, please plan to this year! Through our performances and our work in the community we serve, TCS is truly Transforming the City through Song.
